Question
I am traveling to Virginia to a gun show, but am a resident of the state of North Carolina with a valid CCW permit. Can I buy a handgun at the show from a licensed dealer or private party with this permit? Thanks

Answer
Permits in VA are not qualifiers for firearm purchases only to carry concealed.  You will not be able to purchase a weapon in any state from a licensed dealer unless you are a resident of that state with 2 pieces of valid state ID.  However in VA you can purchase a weapon from a non FFL dealer without being a resident. Virginia is very well known for such purchases.  There may be some law changes soon.
