2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Non violent felony

Question
I have a felony on my record because I was involved in a theft from a store (I messed up big time). That is my only charge and it was a non violent crime. Will this keep me from getting a permit/license to purchase a pistol in NJ?

Answer
Forget about ever getting a gun in NJ legally now. I'm not sure if NJ have a restoration of rights process.  Even if you did receive restoration of rights in NJ they still wil deny you a firearm permit.  They are like NY, MD and DC very strict firearm rules and regulations.  A may issue states oppose to a shall issue state like Virginia and Florida.

Good Luck
