Question
I pleaded no contest on a misdemeanor battery charge resulting from a fight from my wife in 2001 . Completed probation with no violations, paid dues and restitutions, attended court mandated 52 week seminars. I have  been a model citizen ever since and under the process
of expunging my records however will this restore my rights to purchase and  own a  gun?
I have read that California wll restore my rights but not
federally, is that true? And if so is there a way to restore those rights!!Thanks!!

Answer
If California expunge your records and it is no longer on your FBI fingerprint status you are good.  If they do not request for the FBI to remove it from your records then you will continue to be restrictd from firearms.  California cannot over ride a federal restriction on firearms.

Good Luck
