2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/nj firearms id

Question
i want to apply for my firearms id in NJ. 32 years ago i was charged with
possession of less than 25 grams of pot. Paid a small fine and think i got a
"conditional discharge" don't remember everything since a long time ago.
Can't determine from reading the info from the police station whether this
matter will preclude me from getting my permit in NJ? What do you think?

Thank you

Answer
Daniel,

Thanks for asking. Just so you know, most drug related charges would be enough to prevent someone from getting a firearms ID, even if it was a long time ago. Unless those charges have been expunged or pardoned, they most likely will still show up.

You may want to seek legal help to see what all of the possibilities are.

Best of luck,

Dan
