2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms - Gun purchase

Expert: n/a - 8/13/2009

Question
In 2004 I was charged with "Theft: $500 Plus Value. I plead "Not Guilty" and the courts disposition was "Guilty". Restitution was paid and the there was no time served. My question is. Can I purchase a firearm in the state of Maryland?

Answer
If you have a felony no you can't purchase a firearm.  MD is a very strict

state when it comes to firearms.  If you can receive a Virginia non-resident

permit with your conviction you should be good to purchase a firearm in MD.

That would mean you don't have a felony maybe a misdemeanor.  5 years need

to pass before you can receive a VA firearm permit with a misdemeanor.

Good Luck
