Question
I took a plea bargain for an assault charge that happened when i was 16 years old and was sentenced to 6 years in a department of corrections youth program in 2001. I successfully completed the program and was released off of parole in 2007. this took place in Colorado. I was wondering what would be the process for me to get my rights restored if its possible

Answer
First you must be off Parole,  Then you can apply for Full restoration of rights.  I'm
not sure if you were tried as an adult or not, it makes a difference because some states say
to qualify for a firearm permit you must not have been convicted of a felony as an adult.
To find out how to apply for restoration of rights you can return to the courts where you were convicted and find out the process.  You may be able to find something online as well.
