I recently applied for a gun permit in Wethersfield CT. In the past(over 6 years ago) I was arrested for failure to appear on traffic charges. At least 5 times. I was told by my town that FTA can be considered a criminal charge even though all charges were nolle and a minimum fine. What is the likelihood I will be Denied? Should I include a letter stating they were all traffic offenses and nollied
Failure to appear is a felony charge.
Unless the record was sealed the arrest will show.
Usually its removed if they are noilled but if there more than one
who knows.
You can run an arrest history on yourself and see if anything there.
The permit likily will be denied if the arrests show.
Adding a letter would not help.
I suggest you talk to a lawyer who specializes in 2nd amendment law.
There is a Attorney Sherman in West Hartford who takes these types of cases.
