2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/Restore Firearms Rights in Michigan

Question
In 1994/1995 I had several convictions all non-violent in the state of Michigan. I am hoping to get information on how to restore my Civil Rights as well as my Firearms Rights.

Conviction 1: Felony Check - Non-Sufficient Funds $500.00 or more
Conviction 2: Felony Larceny By Conversion over $100.00
Conviction 3: Felony Larceny in a Building

What options if any are available to me to restore my Civil Rights and also my Firearm Rights (Second Amendment)?

I have heard that my options are 1 - I can apply/petition the County CPL/CCW Gun Boards, 2 - Expungement/Gubernatorial Pardon or possibly through the court.

But not only is the information out there misleading, confusing and inaccurate. But I have been unable to find an Attorney who is a subject matter expert in the state of Michigan.

Do you know if I have any options to restoring my Second Amendment Rights in Michigan? Are there any options Federally?

Thank you.

Answer
Mity,

Thanks for asking. The only way to get your rights restored is to go through legal assistance. Have your attorney apply on your behalf for expungement or pardon. Just being a convicted felon means that under Federal law you cannot possess a firearm.

Hope this helps,

Dan
