QUESTION: My group and I would like more imformation on our topic. For example what is the history and backround on private gun ownership. And why people shouldn't have guns etc., since we are against private gun ownership. Thank you.

ANSWER: Dear Leah,

The history and background on gun ownership can be found in a small book called the 2nd Amendment primer. You can get a copy from http://www.palladiumpress.com/primers.asp

On the contrary people should have guns if they are law abiding citizens. Can you explain why you and your group are against private gun ownership?

All that you have to do is look at the countries where the government has taken away their guns and because of that they lose their freedom.

Like the 2nd Amendment says " A well regulated militia, necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

QUESTION: My group and I are against gun control because we believe that americans shouldn't have guns because guns are one of the many sources of vilence today. Every day people are getting killed by firearms some of those firearms being privatly owned.

Answer
Leah,

If you and your group are against gun control then you and your group are for the ownership of firearms.

The sources of violence do not come from the guns, it comes from the evil inside the person. Guns are inanimate objects and incapable of firing bullets by their self.  It takes a criminally minded, evil person to pull the trigger to kill another person. This is called murder.

If the US courts would insure the death penalty for these murderers there would be less murders.

If you use your firearm for self defense this is lawful with no criminal intent implied.

The US Constitution grants us the right to keep and bear arms.

I am not going to give you any information on why people should not own guns, based on the above.
