Question
I was convicted of a class d and e felony first and only time in trouble they
are labor related charges non violent  non drug or theft charges will this
prevent my application from being approved

Answer
You don't say where you are applying for a permit (but I'm assuming it may be NYC, since that is one of the few places where a permit is needed for a rifle or shotgun). Regardless of the jurisdiction, one is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition under federal law if he has been convicted of a felony. No agency will issue a permit when the felony is found during the background check and/or disclosed, as required, on the application.
