hi,I currently have to conduct a set of interviews for my English 1 honors class. In this class i am supposed to prepare a research paper that contains a debatable topic the effects either me or my community. I had seen that the second amendment has a very loose meaning and can be interpreted in different ways. I would like to know if the second amendment should be strict or should it be left alone in an attempt to not mess with anyone's right to bear arms?

Thanks for asking. IMHO the second amendment means exactly what it says.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

It should be left intact just as the rest of the bill of rights are. There is no reason to change the second amendment just as there is no good reason to change the others.

When people start trying to implement their own interpretation, bad things happen. This would be messing with the individual right to keep and bear arms.
