Question
I was convicted of a felony (burglary) over 33 years ago. I had my record sealed by the Massachusetts courts. Can I own a hunting rifle. According to CORI Ido not have to divulge my criminal record when seeking employment. Do I have to when applying for a rifle permit? I havent been in any trouble for 33 years..Many thnx

Answer
Edward,

Thanks for asking. A felony on your record will prevent owning any firearm. You may want to consider legal help to ask for pardon or to expunge your record.
Anytime you apply for employment it is always good to tell the truth. The same when applying for a rifle permit.
