Question
i was  convicted in federal court of misdemeanor  possession of a controlled substance [anabolic s] 2 years ago .. i just finished up probation .  i was able to get my long guns back without issue but they are uncertain about my pistols at this time .. i live in new york state ..  does  getting convicted at a federal level of a misdemeanor affect my state pistol license ..

Thanks for asking. Anyone that had a Federal drug related conviction will have problems obtaining a handgun.  You can seek legal assistance to file for pardon or to expunge your record. After that is done, you should not have any trouble.
