Question i was very relieved to see Stacey's question. my fiancee and I have been trying to find the answer to whether or not i could own guns since we live together and he is a felon. i myself have never been a big fan of guns. but i do believe stably mental folks should be allowed to own one. we live in rural area and plan to move further out to the country and own livestock. so if I'm going to invest and put my money into an expensive lifestyle I'd like to know that i can protect my herds and family from coyotes or the crazies that pop up in the country knocking on people's doors. i plan to take gun classes and shooting lessons to more prepare myself to handle the guns properly and safe as possible. what can i do to make sure I'm not convicted of a felony for having guns in the same house. do my guns have to stay in like a safe with a lock? i don't want my man in jail for me owning guns, but i should be able to protect what is mine, Right?
Answer Jessica,
Thanks for asking. The best way is to keep your guns locked up away from your man. Yes you should be able to protect what is yours. Just be sure that he does not obtain access to your firearms or both of you will be in trouble.
I will answer questions on the 2nd amendment from both historical and present day applications. I will answer questions on the right to keep and bear arms and the significance of this right.
I will not answer questions that require legal interpretation or those that are outside of my areas of expertise.
