Question
When I was 16yrs old I was charged with armed robbery! However There was never a weapon and I was considered just an accomplice...I was just there when it happened(with the kid that stole a phone from another kid...it was stupid) it was eventually reduced to a Misdemeanor Assault and I pleaded guilty to that. I am 31yrs old now and look back at that stupid day with regret! I did probation until I was 21yrs old and have no other record since. I want to buy a handgun from my boss, but want to be legal with it and have it registered. Will this ancient crime affect me??

Answer
This is the topic for questions about the Second Amendment, not Criminal Justice.

Suggest that you consult with an attorney in your state.

In response to your reply that "I was asking if I was able to have the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!," that's not at all what you asked.

But either way it's a CRIMINAL JUSTICE question, and you need to consult an attorney.

If you were, in your own words, "stupid" when you were 16, how much smarter have you gotten at age 31 if you don't know the difference, and if you're looking for a specific legal opinion on the Internet?

C'mon, Christopher, time to wise up.

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
