2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/CCW in the workplace/work vehicle

Question
I am a contractor who works in a high crime area.  I have no "physical" office.  My van is my office.  Does Federal Law offer stricter protections for privacy/CCW for work vehicles than for private passenger vehicles?

Answer
Federal law does not generally regulate the carrying of loaded firearms in vehicles. The regulation of the carrying of handguns has been left to states, and in some cases, to localities within those states. Every state has its own laws regarding concealed carry. You would need to refine your inquiry to a specific state to determine whether or how it regulates guns in vehicles, and then see whether that state's laws treats a vehicle used as a mobile office any differently. Your question cannot be answered with any more specificity at this time.
