Question
I had a Domestic Violence charge about 17 years ago in the state of Georgia.I live in Arizona now and want to own a hand gun and a shot gun for home protection.
A)What steps do I take to have my record expunged?
B)Can my wife own a gun in the house that we own if I cant?

Answer
Jeff,

A DV charge will prevent you from owning a firearm. Get legal help to file to expunge or pardon your record. When that is done you should be able to own. In the mean time, your wife can have a gun as long as you do not have access to it until your record is clear. If you do you both will be in trouble with the law.
