Question
is it possible to get my 2nd amendment rights restored after being convicted of attempted grand larcney? i served 30 days of a sixty day sentence. years later i went for a sheriffs card in las vegas were i know reside and found out i was denied because of this supposed felony conviction. thank you for your time.

Answer
It's not a "supposed felony conviction," Luis! It's an actual Felony Conviction! Doesn't matter how much time you spent in jail, but how much time you could have spend in jail on such a conviction.

Get used to it… you're a convicted felon, and therefore a Prohibited Person.

The best way to deal with this is to obtain a transcript of the disposition of your case from the court where you were convicted, and consult with an attorney in Nevada familiar with that state's Penal Code.

G'luck to you.

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
