Question
I moved from washington state were you can have handgun with you only time you need permit is when it is consealed now I reside in new york state (not nyc) I was arrested for having a handgun I have only been here for two and ahalf yrs, I have read some gun laws sence I went jail and one of them was you do not have to register or need a permit only prior to purchase, which the hand gun was purchased in washington state which I had to wait 7 days to pickup because of the time run background check. can you help me understand

But before you try to further read and comprehend New York State's firearms law… which are heavy lifting  for anyone without a Law degree… a book on punctuation. Your question is pretty tough without any periods (".") and commas (",").
