Question
I was convicted of a felony 6 years ago, and did prison time, I was curious if and how i can get my rights to bear arms back, and if so what are the time constraints, etc

Answer
Hello, First there is not enough information.  I need to know was it a federal offense or State?  Which State and the conviction.   Are you finish with parole?  And if so how long have you been off parole?  Usually you need to be off parole for at least 5 years before you can get restoration of your rights.  Also, you will not have your firearms privilege restored you will just have all your rights restored but each state will decide wether to issue you a firearm license to carry.   With a conviction you must have a firearm permit to carry even if your rights are restored, with the exception of the state of Vermont.  If you write again with all the information I requested I may be able to help you.
