2nd Amendment and Right to Bear Arms/CCW Nevada

Question
I have a concealed weapons permit and I have guns. I recently got married to a man that has a felony on his record for smoking marijuana in jail after being booked on DUI in 1990. My question is can he get into trouble for me carrying my gun while he is with me. I know he is not allowed to have access but what does "access" mean?? If its in my purse but we are in the same vehicle is that access?? If it is in my ankle holster and we are together is that "access". The laws for a felon in possession of a firearm are quite strict and its a mandatory 2 to 5 yr sentence here. I would feel awful if we thought we were legal and he went to prison.

Answer
Hi, 'Becca…

This is starting to look like the Letters to the Editor sections of Playboy or Penthouse 30-35 years ago, who can come up with the most convoluted or complex situation.

You really need to pose that question and circumstance to an attorney familiar with Nevada criminal law.

I've tried to make it clear that I'm not an attorney, nor am I qualified to dispense legal advice upon which to be relied. Yet still I am beset with inquiries not related in anyway to the Second Amendment.

So now I have a question for you… why would you, an apparently otherwise level-headed individual, get involved with, much less married to, anyone stupid enough to torch up a joint while being held in custody for DUI?!?

I can answer questions about Handguns, Rifles, Ammunition, the Firearms Industry, the "gunzine game," practical accessories for self-defense (CCW) handguns; rumor control on firearms myths, errata on the "gunshop grapevine."

I am NOT an Attorney, and nothing I provide here should be relied upon as legal advice. Therefore, please do NOT make inquiries about Criminal Justice issues... this is the Second Amendment topic.

Nor do I do "Private Consultations." Want to made it "private," retain an attorney.
