Question
I was convicted in federal court of drug conspiracy in 1988 and served time. I've been out since 1996 and off supervised release since 2001. Can i get my right to bear arms back. I currently live in GA.

Answer
Yes you can but only through the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives. (BATFE). The State of Ga. will not be allowed to give you a restoration of rights certificate or a first time offender status because it was a Federal case.  The BATFE claims they can't finance the time and paperwork to process any Firearms Rights Restoration due to lack of funds. You may have to pay for the process yourself to have them do the process.  The office is now located in West Virginia not Washington DC.  Good Luck.
