Question
My son accidently put a hole in a neighbors window because it bounced of our fence.  She went into a panic and called the police.  Can they take the bb gun away from him? Is there any law that says that he has to turn it over to the police?

I'm not an expert on BB guns but in most states you must be 18 years of age or older to own or play with one.  Parents can be liable for all damage including criminal charges.  For instance a 16 year old was playing with a BB gun in Middletown, NY accidently shot another in the eye causing her to go blind.  He is now facing criminal charges.  The parent was let off the hook but Child services got involved and she may loose her other children.   So I would say yes in most States they are allowed to take BB guns away from a minor especially when they do damage to other peoples property.
