Question
I was convicted of uttering forgery on 04/27/99 in the state of Mississippi. I served time and was discharged completely 12/28/2000. How do I go about being able to hunt with a gun again?

Answer
You will have to get your Rights restored in the state of  Mississippi.  In most States this process is done in the Court building where you was convicted.  You can check online to see if you can download an appliction for Executive Clemency or Restoration of Rights.  Some states will not give you a weapons permit for false statements which forgery may fall under.  I know plenty of felons who have their rights restored by this process so I know it works for sure.  Two States will definately give you a non resident weapons permit with restoration of rights that's Florida and Virginia.  Mississippi I'm not sure if they will or not.  Do some research online and see.   Good luck.
