Question
I have some non violent felony convictions that are over 20 years old. I hold a state issued professional license, regularly vote in all local, state and federal elections, am summoned for jury duty , own firearms, under state law legally, but can not for purpose of the BATF requirements pass the application test for a CCW , any advice as to my options?
Gary

Answer
If you can't own a firearm because of BATF Law then you own firearms illegally.  No State can supercede BATF Federal firearm Laws.  What you can do is apply for restoration of rights in your state for your convictions.  Just because you have voting rights restored does not mean you have your firearm rights restored.  Felony convictions make it illegal to own, purchase or transport firearms without an expungement, pardon or relief from disabilities or if the conviction was set aside.  This is a Federal Law

Good Luck
