About Brian Shambaugh
Expertise
I can answer just about everything about 311 and their past as a band. I can mainly answer questions about the band as people, their albums, (all of them), their tour history, the names of their bootleg albums, where to find those, the best places to get 311 merchandise, their favorite songs to sing, what songs each member of the band has written, and unusual facts about the band. What I could not tell you is the names of their families, other than Nick`s brother, and some of the songs that appear on certain bootleg albums.

Experience
311 has been my favorite band since 1995. Since then, I have always read up on them, their tour history, all kinds of facts about them, like the cars they drive. I also spend alot of time on-line reading about them.

Organizations
I am on the 311 on-line team helping promote their new album "From Chaos," I also help with other various things like sending e-mails, radio requests, video requests, and going to the shows to show my support and how inspirational the band is.

Question
Where is the best place to get old school 311 merchandise?  I can't find some of their old shirts on their site anymore.  Also is "You Wouldn't Believe" about Chad?  Is Nick Hexum dating the same girl he has been since '93? Where can I get Damnit! ?

Answer
I really don't know where the best place is to get OLD SCHOOL 311 stuff.  I have been looking myself, and I cannot seem to locate any good spots.  As far the song I'll be here Awhile, I am not sure if it is about Chad or not because the band has not really said, but here are some words from Nick on the song.

"The song 'You Wouldn't Believe' is about a good friend that is going through a break up and feels rejected and has lost sight of his self-esteem. He's finding it really hard to move on and hard to stop thinking about the person. In the song, I'm saying to him, "Man, you've got a head full of ideas that you wouldn't believe, heart made of pure gold, so many tricks up your sleeve" -- like, so many personal traits that you've forgotten about because your whole outlook and self esteem is so weak at this time. It's kind of like the movie "Swingers" when all of these guys are talking to the main character, saying, "Man, you're so money and you don't even know it." It's like, you've just forgotten about what you love about your life, and what's great about you, and you've just got to get through this time, and get used to being alone. It's something that I think everyone's been through, seeing someone that's really down because of being rejected by someone. And it's kind of a universal theme, and it's something that I was seeing around me at the time."     I hope that helped you with your question.  Now, Nick is not dating the same person as he was in 93.  When I got the chance to meet  him at the Warped Tour in Fresno this year,  I heard him and another fan talking, and Nick said "I am in a new relationship that I am totally buzzed about."   And last, the only place I know where you can ge Dammit is the inner light spectrum.  It is free, and in mp3 format.  Just download it and burn it onto a Cd.  I hve no idea where you can get an original copy.  The address is http://srd.yahoo.com/goo/inner+light+spectrum/2/*http://www.lockedown.com/~brueg...         When you get there, click on Audio.  thnks and I'll talk to ya later
