Question
How can you keep test renderings times down with mental ray? It seems everytime I have a pretty complex model built it takes about 15 minutes to do a 600x400 size test render.
(my computer has a 3.2 Ghz Pent.4, 1GB ram, 256 nvidia video card) Also how do you enable the hyperthreading so there are 4 rendering buckets instead of 2?

Thanks

Answer
Dear Nate,
Thanks for your question & for such precise details as well.
In the Render Window, you can select/deselect the options to render or not-render the environment, effects, materials etc. to render the things in a faster manner. You can also modify the settings to render the selected object only. Please look into that, CAREFULLY.

If you have any other query please get back to me.

Best Wishes,
Harsh Sharma.
