The 97 Z-71 has NO midshaft bearing!  The drive shaft (excepting each end which holds the u-joints) is made of carbon fiber.

You have a bad u joint. Be careful changing it. This is not a steel drive shaft. I would bet your front u joint is bad on the main shaft.
