Question
When I press the 4WD Lo or Hi button, I hear the transfer case shift but the front axle does not lock. Replaced the fuse, tried again and the fuse blew. The actuator wires have been damaged and spliced. Could the Actuator be shorted out? Does it sound like the actuator is the problem?

Answer
Mark , it could be shorted out, however I think I would take all the dameged splices apart and sodder tham together if they are not , make sure you have nothing rubbing , or no loose wires anywhere. The short has to be caused somewhere and I bet there is a wire broke . ADAM
