4 Wheel Drive/SUVs - old truck

Expert: Adam Kinion - 10/22/2009

Question
i've got an 83 1/2 ton ford 4x4,w/ 302 thats been set up for about 2 or 3 years and was running when it was set up. i was wanting to get it running again.  i was just wondering if you have any tips or suggestions. i planned on new plugs, wires, changing oil and filters, but wondered if there was anything special i needed to do since its set up for so long. i've worked on old trucks before but its mostly been trial an error stuff, and thought some advice from someone who had more experience would be a good idea. i know its a pretty broad subject, and not much info, but any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Answer
Joseph, I think you have the right idea a tune up would be really good for it, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Also change the fuel filter as well I wouldnt go doing much else , or it defeats the purpose of a cheap older truck, let me know if you need anything thanks ADAM
