Question
QUESTION: I smelled something burning while driving then the service 4WD light came on. When I got home I tried to engage the 4WD and the lights would only flash plus my electric mirrors on the outside stopped working at the same time. Could this be a burned wire somewhere and if so, where could I find a wiring schematic. Any ideas on where to start if it is a wiring problem?

ANSWER: Steve, it could be an electrical problem , however, I dont think that the problem would interfeer with the mirrors and the 4x4 , alot of the times when the service 4x4 light comes on and the lights start flashing it is an indication the motor on the tranfercase is bad. Have you checked all the fuses fro your power mirrors? ADAM

QUESTION: Yes, there was a blown fuse when I looked around after the burning smell and lights flashing and 4WD not working but when I put a fuse in it gets blown again. That's why I thought it might be a wiring problem. I replaced the module in the dash for the lights and check the TCCM module behind the kick panel and all look good. I'm stumped.

Answer
Steve, you are going to have to get a wiring schematic like you say and track down some wires, We use mitchell on demand, and All Data here in our shop which has good diagrams, i dont know wheather you could find them on the web or not, my scanner is not working other wise I could scan them to you.
