Question

"I went to drive the truck today and I released the hand brake and it felt different.  The brake light did go off.  The truck would not move and it felt like the parking brake was still on.  The truck has 195,000 miles on it and it is driven rarely.  I usually don't use the parking brake.  Someone else drove the truck.  Can I disconnect the cable so I can drive the truck?  Do I really need to use the parking brake if I leave the truck in gear?

Thank you."

Answer
Howard, the e brake , is up to you , I never use the e brake on manual vehicles we have just for the simple fact of them sticking so you can un hook them , you will have to back the adjusters off on the drums and take them off to get the cable off though , thanks ADAM
