2006 4x4 silverado automatic with on the floor 4x4 gearbox shifter
with truck transmission in neutral and parking brake on like owner's manual instructs, gear box makes quick grinding noise going from 2h to neutral or neutral to 2h with the engine idling
is this normal?

Nick, I have had over 1,000 of these trucks in and out of the carlot, some of them shift so smooth that you cant hardly notice that they shift into 4x4 and some of them make some noise, what usually is the problem, is either the transfercase motor has a bad spot in it, or the forks in the transfercase are getting wore, I wouldnt worry about it untill the time approaches thanks ADAM
