About Gary R. Del Carlo
Expertise
I became a teenager in December 1954. That's about when Rock and Roll started. I started listening to music before that. I can probably answer a lot of different questions from this time period. I don't consider myself an expert in anything, I don't profess to have an answer to every question, but I promise to do my best.

Experience
I grew up as a teenager in the 50's, and have many 50'songs in my record collection. I'm still a rock and roller.

Education/Credentials
Associate Degree from City College of San Francisco

Subject: 1950 (?) song

Question
There was in 1950 a song called something like "Old Kentucky Fox Hunt on Saturday night." Maybe it was novelty song, but I was 15 that year, and heard it maybe a dozen times, radio and juke boxes that spring. A solo with maybe a fiddle?  Can't find a listing on it, and of course my memory doesn't include all the details..

"I know a lot of people never heard the sound
Of an old fox hunter calling his hound.
I know another fella had a dog named Blue
On a Saturday night here is what he would do

He'd call up his neighbor on the party line
Saying Saddle up and meet  'bout a quarter to nine
Ol' Blue is a-waitin' for the tally ho
He's a hotter than a pistol and a-rarin' to go"

And so it goes. Might you have a lead on the correct title, artist, or ....   May have once been a folk song, but it was juke-box popular (well, semi-popular) in 1950. Maybe 1949 also?

Thanks Gary. Be well.

Answer
I'm sorry Pete, but I entered your title all different ways, and I entered your lyrics into Google, and I just don't find anything like that. Entering these usually comes up with the title and artist, but not this time.

Try the other "exerts". Maybe one there will know the song you're requesting. Good luck!
