About Gary R. Del Carlo Expertise I became a teenager in December 1954. That's about when Rock and Roll started. I started listening to music before that. I can probably answer a lot of different questions from this time period. I don't consider myself an expert in anything, I don't profess to have an answer to every question, but I promise to do my best.
Experience I grew up as a teenager in the 50's, and have many 50'songs in my record collection. I'm still a rock and roller.

Question Well Gar, I'm losing it. I've tried so many different search engines trying to get a handle on eaither the title of this song or the artist's name who sings it (preferably both), but to no avail. The lyrics are something like, "My heart goes pittly-pat-a-pat-a, pittly-pat-a-pat-a, every time I look at you. I don't a-know-a what's the matter, matter, what's the matter, why pittly-pat a ooh, ohh." The chorus goes, "I guess it's 'cause you're lovely, I guess it's 'cause you're sweet. I guess it's 'cause your the prettiest little girl my eyes did ever meet. I wish I had a penny for every pitter-pat. I'd have so many pennies that I wouldn't know where I was at." If you can help thanks!
Answer Well Pat, I've searched and searched, and can't find anything on that song. I entered the entire lyrics you sent, and still nothing.
Sorry it took me so long getting back to you but I just got word from a young lady that I sort of became a 2nd father to back in the mid 90's to about 2002, that she's getting married. She and a friend of hers use to come over and stay the weekend when I lived up in northern California. I always played oldies, and a lot of Doo Wop, so they BOTH started liking Doo Wop. She mentioned that she wanted Barbershop Quartet music at her wedding. I sort of doubted that that's what she wanted so I sent her one of the old standard Barbershop Quartet songs, and told her I bet she wanted the acapella Doo Wop, and I was right. So I spent the majority of yesterday downloading and sending her all the acapella Doo Wop I had. She loves it. Especially "Earth Angel" by the Alley Cats. Sometime in the late 90's a group sang "Earth Angel", and made it a hit again. She loved it, so I brought out "Earth Angel" by the Penguins, and she REALLY loved that, so I sent her the one by the Alley Cats, and that sealed it. It's great to get a young person to like the old Doo Wop.
I'll continue to check on this song for you because people are always adding to the Internet.
