Question
QUESTION: Hi Gary,
The lyrics I cought for the 50's song in question are:
"I love you, I really do" (one man with high pitched voice sung something like: "IIe lo-ve you hu hu hu hu, IIIIII really do hu hu hu hu") I'm not sure of the lyrics that follow, but it's one man with a mid range voice something like: "my darling, your love is so divine, your kisses are sweeter than wine....".  In between the singing there's some background oral sounds for 5 or 10 seconds something like: "hu, hu, hu ha hu, hu ha hu ha hu hu hu, huuuuuu huuuuu ha huuuuuuu".
If you could help with the title and or group that would be great.
Thanks for your help!

ANSWER: Skip,

I'm not sure of the songs you want, and the one I have here doesn't have the exact lyrics you have, but I thought it might be:

"I Really Love You" by the Stereos

The Stereos I Really Love You
[A] [Rhythmic pounding.]

[B] [Add to [A] above for background:]
Doom, doom-doom-doom, doom-doom-doom, doom-doom-doom,
Doom-doom-doom, doom-doom-doom, doom-doom-doom,
Doom-doom-doom, doom-doom-doom,

[C] [Add to [A] and [B] above for background:]
Da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da,
Da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da,
Da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da,
Da.

[Back to [A] and [B] above for background:]
Yeah, do!
I really, really love you.
Nobody else will do.
That's why I love you,
That's why!
Why! Why!

Yeah, you!
I really, really want you.
Nobody else will do.
That's why I love you,
That's why!
Why! Why!

[D] [Switch background to Dip, dip-did-ip's.]
Well, babe, you know I love you so.
I'd praise the world if you could know.
But when I see you coming down the street,
My heart skips a beat.

[Back to [A] and [B] background.]
You,
I really, really need you.
Oh, but you played me for a fool.
Why do you do me like you do?
Do. Do.

Yeah.
[Add [C] to [A] and [B] for doo wop interlude.]

[D] [Switch background to Dip, dip-did-ip's.]
Well, babe, you know I love you so.
I'd praise the world if you could know.
But when I see you comin' down the street,
My heart skips a beat.

[Back to [A] and [B] for background.]
You.
I really, really need you.
But yet you play me for a fool.
Why do you do me like you do?
Why do you do me like you do?
Why? Why?

QUESTION: Hi Gary,
Thanks for trying, but that's not it.  Any other ideas?  Although I'm not sure of much of the words,  I'm very sure of the "I love you, I really do" and the way It's sang, and also the "hu, hu, hu ha hu, hu ha hu ha hu hu hu, huuuuuu huuuuu ha huuuuuuu" part....perhaps better pronounced "who, who, who ha who, who ha who ha who who who, whoooooo whooooo ha whoooooooo"
Thanks! Skip

Answer
Well Skip, I'm really sorry, but I just don't recognize the tune here. I've done some Internet research with no luck. When I can't answer a question I save it away and continue to check on it. Who knows, I may find it someday. In the meantime, if you haven't already don't so, I suggest you ask the same question of the other "experts". Maybe what you've typed here may jog one of their memories and find it for you. Good luck!

Expertise

I can usually find lyrics, and titles of songs, or names of groups.

Experience

I grew up in the 50's. My teenage years were from 1954 to 1960. I collect records from the 50's and beyond in many genres. Lots of Doo Wop, my favorite music. I answered questions on this website for a while with very good results. I just got burned out and took a sabbatical.
