I must say, I never heard of a song by that name from the 50s. But while I was trying to find a possible reference to the song online, I found someone else asking a question on another forum, "Anyone heard the 1950s song 'Confidential' by Sonny Knight?" So perhaps this would answer your question. Of course, I never heard of Sonny Knight either! (On further investigation, I see that Sonny Knight was an R&B singer -- I don't much care for R&B, so that would explain my not knowing him.) But he did, apparently, sing a song by that name, so I guess that's the answer to your question.

Apparently, you seem to feel that an expert on '50s music has to be an expert on *all* types of '50s music. I never claimed to be; if you read my profile I put myself forth as an expert on *traditional*pop* music from the '40s & '50s (what you called "top 40 music," though that's inaccurate). Yet I answered your question. It's as though you found someone listed as an expert on baseball and asked a football question, and even though the person in question hated football, he found your answer!
