50s Music/Song popular in Germany in the mid 50"s

Question
It's in German and I don't know the exact spelling or translation of the title but phonetic spelling would be: tausand kula kula traenen. I think it translates to something like a thousand tears falling. I met and married my wife in Germany in 1955/56 and the song was constantly on the juke box in  our favorite gasthaus. She's in a nursing home with alzheimers now amd the old music is one of the few things she enjoys. I know it's not going to be easy but if you aren't abe to find it could you think of some other source I could try? Thanks, Bill(or {Pogo)

Answer
I looked up "Tausend Traenen" and found one song called "Tausend Traenen tief," but that seems to be a more recent song than you probably have in mind. I know a lot about songs that were popular in the US in the 50s because I lived through that era. And I've found a lot of info about songs that were popular in Britain in that era. But the rest of the world is a different story; I haven't a clue about what might have been popular in Germany in the mid 1950s. So I have to say "sorry, you've got me there."
