Question
Hi Bruce,

I'm looking for a song from the 50s, it could be from the early 60s, I'm not sure. Its a male voice singing "Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh" over and over again. I'm not sure if theres any other words, I just heard the song on a preview for a movie on tv. Its an upbeat doowop song and I believe the singer is african american.  Any ideas would be much appreciated. thank you!

Answer
Well, there are probably a number of songs with "Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh" over and over again. But the one that you probably mean (because it IMMEDIATELY came to mind) is "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" which begins with three lines of "ooh ooh..." The African American singer you probably heard was Frankie Lymon (of Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers) though the song was covered by Gale Storm and some others.

Hope that helps.
