Question
Hello, and thank you in advance. I remember a song from my youth, and recently heard it
again in the middle of the night, but no name or title was given.(pre-recorded). It
features a singer who sings baritone somewhat like the Frogman from "I Ain't Got a
home"- the really low part- and it sounds like he is saying "Me-Me-mee, My-My
or something like that, with a Bo Didley type beat. I know this isn't much to go on, but
this style of vocals isn't common. It seems to be a rarely played oldie, and I would love
to know the name of the song.
I'm sure it is from the late 50's to early 60's, and it is not Surfin' Bird by the Trashmen. And it ends with background female vocals singing "Aaahh-aaahh-ahh-ahh. A very unusual song.

Answer
I'm sorry, but you really didn't give much to go on, especially because the song would appear to be outside my area of expertise. I never cared much for R&B, and the music I know is really early-1950s, before R&B begat Rock'n'Roll. You aren't even sure your song isn't from the 1960s, and I don't know very well the music after about 1957.
