Subject: Dream Academy Song with Calypso Drums?

Question
Who sampled or re-did the Dream Academy song "Life in A Northern Town" with Calypso Drums.  It's driving me nuts.  I remember even hearing it on a commercial some time back.  Can you help?

Answer
Hello Marco,
You happened to pick up on one of my favorite songs. I was really glad that you asked about it.
There was a Hertz rental car commercial that used the tune with an island theme, then there was the country flavor of the country style group of Sugarland that remade the song. As for the name of the group that actually did the sampling with the Calypso sound, I truly doubt there was a name. And they were just an idea created by some advertising agency that used the musicians for nothing more than this song . As I said, Hertz rent-a-car reused parts of the original recording in there early 90's ad campaign.
I've did quite a bit of research into this as it was at the time, and still is a favorite of mine.
If you would like me to send you either version of the song.(original) or by Sugarland. Please let me know.
Also, if I have helped ... please leave me feedback ratings.
Thanks
William
