Answer Hi Zen, great question! I love this song and have it on my iPod right now. The song is called "Together" by a Latin salsa/R&B band named Tierra. The song was included on their "City Nights" album released in 1980. Unfortunately, this album is no longer in distribution, but you should be able to find an mp3 version of Together somewhere. I have included the lyrics below. Hope this helps!
LYRICS:
Oh, we could be on a desert
Lost without a place to go
But we are so in love
In love with each other
That we wouldn't even know
(Oh-oh, I) I don't care (I don't care)
Any place anywhere (anywhere)
(Just as long) just as long
(We are there) as we are there
Baby, baby
(Together) together, baby
(Together) together, baby
(Baby, just)
Baby, just you and me, yeah
Whoooa, how happy we'll be, yeeeeah
Whoooa, we could be in poverty
With no one to lend a helping hand
But it's alright, (alright)
Alright I know
Because you always understand
(Oh-oh, I) I don't care (I don't care)
Any place anywhere (anywhere)
(Just as long) just as long
(We can share) as we share
Baby, baby
(Together) together, baby
(Together) together, baby
(Baby, just)
Baby, just you and me, yeah
Whoooa, how happy we'll be, yeeeeah
[Instrumental Interlude]
And I remember (I remember)
When we used to play shoot 'em up (shoot 'em up)
Bang, bang, Baby
(Oh-oh, I) I don't care (I don't care)
Any place anywhere (anywhere)
(Just as long) just as long
(As we are there) as we are there
Your Dad was kinda right. The "Shoot 'em up, bang bang" interlude is from a song called "Cowboys to Girls" by The Intruders. It is not the whole version of this song however. Thanks again!
