Question
QUESTION: I'm looking for a rare version of Spagna's song Call Me. The song has an intro - the telephone rings, she says hello, hello, hi baby, you've got bad news for me, what do you mean he's been out with another woman?" Then the song starts. I've only been able to find the radio edit or album version of this song. Please help me!

ANSWER: Hi Quin,

The radio edit or album would not be the version you're looking for. The version that you're probably looking for is the 12" disco single by CBS (UK). Please review details below:

RECORD LABEL (COUNTRY) / YEAR / CATALOGUE # / FORMAT / SPEED:
CBS Records (UK) / 1987 / CBS 650279 6
12" Single 45 rpm vinyl record

PRODUCTION / RECORDING / MIXER / STUDIO & BAND CREDITS:
Producer: I Spagna / A Pignagnoli / G Spagna

TRACKLISTING:
Side A
Call Me (6:05)

Side B
Girl It's Not The End Of The World

Hope this helps...

QUESTION: Awesome!!  Thank you for the info.  I'll hit the net looking for this version.  I hope that I'll be able to find this on CD or mp3 somewhere.  May I ask how you got this info?  Just doing a search on Call Me results in hundreds of listings.  To be sure you had to listen and recognize the particular version I'm looking for.  Thanks again!!

Answer
There's growing number if disco music related websites that cover well into the late 80's.

I was doing some poking around and found this information.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you the site, for I was reviewing many.

I would just Google "disco forums" for starters.

Usually if it's the same singer but a different version, chances are that it's a 12" disco mix.

Hope this helps...
