80s Music/medley songs

Question
Hello and thank you for taking this question.
I am searching for a couple of songs that I remember playing on a top 40 radio station in the late 70's that I really enjoyed.  They were medley songs.  There was one that contained Beatles songs and maybe the Beach Boys. But the one that I would really love to find is one done with popular classical music tied together with a disco beat. Eventhough it was classical, it contained excerpts from songs that most people would recognize.  Since there is no apparent artist, my search has been futile. Any help you can give me about the artist, title or a place to search would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you again for your time.

Answer

Hi Cathy,

The one track that comes to mind is "A Fifth Of Beethoven" by Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band. This was the most famous classic piece combined with a disco beat. This song was part of the soundtrack from the movie "Saturday Night Fever"

YouTube link here (note video is not part of the song):

Hope this helps!
