Bong,

when I was a child in Europe, I heard a song in April 1986, on AFN radio in Germany.  I don't know the female artist, but I think she was white.  The song is fast and has a male talking through the song in the background, with a deep voice similar to Leon Redbone.  This song is not Pet Shop Boys-What have I done to deserve this? I wonder if this song was just big in Europe.  Would you have any suggestions?  I could only remember the guy saying something like "with a ah ha here and there"

The first song that came to mind was WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS? You said it was not and it made me think what else has a similar pattern. I can't think of any other song. Maybe you are right that it was just a hit in Europe. I'll research some more and will re-post once I got hold of any info.
