Would you know if Crystal Gayle had a version of the song 'I Know Him So Well' or was she the original artist?

None that I know.
But I'm pretty sure CRYSTAL GAYLE did not have a version of the song. I KNOW HIM SO WELL was originally recorded by ELAINE PAIGE & BARBARA DICKSON. Recorded in 1985, it was from the concept album and its subsequent musical CHESS. It was No. 1 for four weeks in the UK Chart.
Other known versions of the song were recorded by WHITNEY HOUSTON & her mother CISSY HOUSTON from WHITNEY's 1987 album WHITNEY and the pop group STEPS for their farewell album THE LAST DANCE, released in 2002, 11 months after the group split.
