Question
In the late 80's , I was in The Philippines, when I heard a version of Cyndi Lauper's song, "Time After Time" The version might have been a male/female duet, with the male doing most of the vocals, but I remember the version to be a lot more upbeat, and have an definite electronic sound to it. I like it a lot more than Cyndi's version. I have no idea who could have sung it - it might be OPM, I just don't know. Do you have any ideas ? Thanks !

Answer
hey peter, "time after time" was indeed a classic 80s hit, what with it's nomination for the grammy's in 1984 and reaching top spot in billboards hot 100. the song though has been covered by at least 120 artists across a broad spectrum of genres.  if we trim down to those versions with male&female vocals or duos, we have shortlisted artists like Tuck & Patti, Everything But The Girl, Eddie Money & Juice Newton. Pinoy artists might have performed it LIVE over concerts or tv shows but I have no info of any recorded cover by OPM artists.

The 80s: a decade where the music was grand. i learned a great deal on the wonderworkings of new wave artists; those pop-rock ditties were remarkable, yet the laid-back love songs were always as good as it was then. as regards artists and their songs,i maybe of help though i'm partial to rap, country, and metal. I am also a smooth jazz junkie and may have infos to take you along a splendid music cruise in our time.
