QUESTION: Hi Bong,
Do you by any chance know the instrumental music sa DZMB played every 12 midnight nung early 80's. Ang natatandaan ko lang kasi yung sa "Biddu Orchestra - Couldn't we be friends" every 6pm.

ANSWER: Dear Rolly,

Sorry, I honestly do not know as I grew up listening to the Mellow Touch although my ears were glued to DZMB during Sundays for their Best by Request program (remember that?). Yeah, I remember COULDN'T WE BE FRIENDS (SONG FOR SU) being played every 6 PM the few times my dialing landed there but that midnight song was kinda elusive. I hope some of our readers will be able to help us.

You must be referring to the song DOUBLE S by country superstar BILL ANDERSON or more popularly nicknamed WHISPERIN' BILL for his gentle, airy vocal style and occasional spoken narrations as with his songs like DOUBLE S and the one that's more popular in the Philippines, THIS IS A LOVE SONG. Both songs came from his album LADIES CHOICE released in 1978. Here's its lyrics:
