The song you are looking for "Diamond Girl" is by Nice & Wild.  I know this is true because it is one of my favorite songs.

The group that sang the 80's freestyle hit "Diamond Girl" was from Miami and was called "Nice & Wild".

I saw that it was Stevie B also and knew it wasn't him.  After looking a bit, I found that it's Joe Granda.

You may be thinking of Seals and Crofts, they did a slow acoustic song called "Diamond Girl". Or, you may be thinking of the disco pop song by Nice And Wild. Hope this helps!

My guess is "Seals and Crofts", but their version was from 1973.

Give it a listen ans see is the way to tell.

The name of the group is TKA. Also LOUDER THAN LOVE and MARIA were big hits for the Latin Freestyle group.

It is nice and wild. You were thinking of Timmy T. He did not sing Diamond Girl

The 80's Club version was done by a group called Nice & Wild. A revision was done again, in I think, 2009, by a latin group called, KMW. Still, till now that song is going strong. You can see Nice & Wild's version on Youtube. Also, the KMW, Reggaton version. Along with, a whole bunch of great dance/club music videos.

Nice and Wild is the name of the group that did this song :) DJ Santana was and is still a DJ here in Tampa. He featured this group in his club in the 80"s. If you want to hear his music you can go to or look him up on facebook..
