Greetings Bong. Rey Valera wrote songs for new artists back in the 70's. Alam mo ba kung sino ang unang nag-record ng " Malayo Pa Ang Umaga" ? Salamat sa sagot mo, ha.

I'm glad someone else remembers that there is another version of REY VALERA's MALAYO PA ANG UMAGA. Unfortunately, the name of the singer escaped me and I can't seem to find the songbook where the singer's name appeared. Hopefully, I will be able to find it and re-post another reply. I believed its their only hit, the reason I forgot his name. I'm pretty sure it was the one used in the mini-series of the same name back in 1979. Anyway, the mini-series was lifted from the STEVAN JAVELLANA novel WITHOUT SEEING THE DAWN. I confirm that there is another version released on Ugat label, REY VALERA's was on the Blackgold label, both are subsidiaries of Vicor Music Corporation.
